Betty Sulty-Johnson is an independent producer and distributor based in Paris (France). She co-founded and co-directed the first festival dedicated to showcasing the work of Black women both in front of and behind the lens from 2005 to 2009 in London (UK).
She worked for France Télévision Distribution, 100% Distribution, Lagardère Studios (now called Mediawan) and Trace Studios where she established a distribution entity specialised in selling Afrocentric content. At Trace Studios, she coproduced an animated series with Côte d'Ivoire called KENDA and a young adult series called ZETWAL and filmed in the French Caribbean in Guadeloupe.
She served for 2 years on the CNC Images de la diversité commission and is now a member of the French Academy of Cinema Arts and Techniques (Les César)
